SLIP: Naked In Your Own Words

Role: Art direction, book design, photo curation, and collage design

SLIP is a book of portraits by photographer Allan Amato that examines professional nudity through the images and words of its subjects.

Project Responsibilities

• Art Direction: Photographer and SLIP creator Allan Amato brought me onto the project to art direct the book and develop its visual direction.

• Cover Design: I designed the covers for both the standard and limited editions.

• Interior Design: I designed the full interior of the book.

• Photo Curation and Collage: I curated the photographs for each subject and created the photo collages used throughout the book. By studying how poses, gestures, and body contours related across different images, I cropped and arranged the photographs so that figures aligned across frames and formed new composite shapes.
