Garen: First Shield
Role: Cover layout, interior design, eBook formatting, and localization support
Garen: First Shield is a League of Legends novella set in Demacia, with cover artwork by SIXMOREVODKA. I designed the cover and interior, produced the reflowable eBook, and adapted the design for publication in ten languages.
Project Responsibilities:
Cover Design: I developed the cover layout around the commissioned artwork, drawing from the established Hextech aesthetic to keep the design consistent with the larger League of Legends visual identity.
Interior Design: I designed the interior typography and page layout to complement the tone of the story and provide a clear, comfortable reading experience.
eBook Production: I formatted and tested the book as a reflowable eBook for Kindle and Google Play, with responsive layouts for different devices and screen sizes.
Localization Design: I adapted the files for ten languages, accounting for text expansion, changing line breaks, and non-Latin character sets while maintaining consistency across editions.
Cross-Team Collaboration: I worked with Riot’s editorial and localization teams to prepare each edition for release across print and digital formats.
